FLIGHTS & TICKETING SPECIALIST- (GALILEO) – MATERNITY OVER – 9 MONTH CONTRACT

Salary: Up to £30,000

Location: West London or West Sussex

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Flights and Ticketing Specialist to join our busy team. The role will involve accurately issuing all tickets within the department to prevent ADMs and save costs where possible in accordance with company procedures. You will also assist with training existing team members in all aspects of flights and provide a helpdesk for the sales team with fare queries.
Working with the Flights & Ticketing team, you will be an individual with exceptional attention to detail, outstanding time management and organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Purpose:

Essential Requirements;
1. To actively provide support to our sales team on a daily basis
2. Work alongside Sales Managers and Head of Sales Operations to ensure all sales teams receive regular feedback and training
3. Accurate issuance of air tickets using the GDS
4. To be fully conversant with all aspects of the GDS and keep up to date with IATA developments
5. Fare calculation and re-issue air exchange tickets
6. To be fully conversant with all ticketing duties including airline contracts, CAT35 fares and procedures
7. Maximise revenue and margin opportunities by issuing the best possible option for our guests and recovering monies wherever possible e.g. tax refunds
8. Assist with all aspects of allocation bookings when required
9. Investigation of Agency Debit Memos
10. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well within a busy team
11. Being on the emergency phone call rota and taking emergency calls out of hours as and when needed

Duties;
The duties that derive from these responsibilities include but are not exclusive to:
o Ensure that all Travel Consultants are confident with the GDS and to assist with any queries from the sales team
o Provide training to the sales team as and when new procedures are introduced
o BSP - management of refunds, ADMs and general administration as required
o Attending in house training courses and if required meetings with various airlines to build mutually beneficial relationships
o Support the Flights and Ticketing Team with new booking flight costing checks and storing correct fares
o Highlighting of ticket deadlines and contract changes to the relevant teams
o Assist with keeping and updating reports on flight cost errors, ADMs and refunds
o Ensure that ticketing procedures are kept up-to date and that contract/airline anomalies related to ticketing and pricing are communicated to the relevant teams
o Providing out-of-hours ticketing support
o Organise staff and press flights
o Such other duties as management may reasonably require
Salary of £30k per year consist of £24k basic with £3k for working 9 x Saturdays and £3k for being on-call for 9 x weeks of the year
